Shimla, Oct. 7 -- President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday visited the 9.02-km-long Atal Tunnel, located at an altitude of over 10,000 feet, during the second day of her three-day visit to Himachal Pradesh.
Governor Kavinder Gupta and Lady Governor Bindu Gupta accompanied the President during her visit to the tunnel's North Portal, where she was accorded a traditional welcome by local residents.
Technical Education Minister and Minister-in-Waiting Rajesh Dharmani, BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, Lahaul-Spiti MLA Anuradha Rana, Deputy Commissioner Kiran Badana, senior district administration officials and Army personnel were also present to receive the President.
Dharmani presented a memento to the President on the occasion.
