Bhubaneswar, June 20 -- President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday remotely laid the foundation stone for Bharat Coal Gasification & Chemicals Limited's (BCGCL) Coal-to-Ammonium Nitrate Project at Lakhanpur in Odisha's Jharsuguda district.
The project marks a significant milestone in India's coal gasification mission and is expected to accelerate the country's transition towards value-added utilisation of indigenous coal resources.
BCGCL, a joint venture between Coal India Limited (CIL) and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), has been formed with CIL holding a 51 per cent equity stake and BHEL holding the remaining 49 per cent.
