Navi Mumbai, Oct. 26 -- Team India allrounder Pratika Rawal sustained an injury to her knee and ankle while fielding during Bangladesh's innings in the ICC Women's World Cup match at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy here today.

The BCCI Medical Team is closely monitoring her recovery and further assessment will determine her availability for the upcoming fixtures.

The incident occurred in the 21st over when Rawal, stationed near the midwicket boundary, attempted to cut off a boundary hit by Sharmin Akhter.

In the process of turning, her right foot appeared to get stuck on the damp turf, causing her ankle to twist awkwardly. Pratika immediately fell to the ground, grimacing in pain, prompting teammates and the physio to rush to her side.
