Bengaluru, July 9 -- India allrounder Prathyusha Challuru emerged as the costliest player in the history of the Maharani Trophy KSCA T20 after Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters signed her for a tournament-record Rs 4.5 lakh at the player auction on Thursday.

The record bid highlighted the growing value of women's cricket in Karnataka, with franchises investing aggressively after the tournament doubled the player auction purse to Rs 20 lakh per team for the 2026 edition.

Prathyusha, who made her India debut against South Africa in 2021, was the standout pick of the auction, edging India batter Shubha Satheesh, who was bought by Mysuru Warriors for Rs 4.2 lakh, and Karnataka star Vrinda Dinesh, who attracted an identical bid from Hubli Tigers.
