New Delhi, July 25 -- union Minister Pralhad Joshi was on Saturday given the additional charge of the Education Ministry, after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned, capping over a month of widespread student protests against exam paper leaks.
President Droupadi Murmu, on the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accepted the resignation of union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan with immediate effect under Article 75(2) of the Constitution.
An official communique issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan said the President accepted Pradhan's resignation from the union Council of Ministers and assigned the Education Ministry to Joshi in addition to his existing responsibilities.
