New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa clinched the Grand Chess Tour St. Louis Rapid and Blitz title with a round to spare after a draw against Javokhir Sindarov in their final head-to-head encounter.

The 20-year-old Praggnanandhaa finished the tournament with 23 points from a possible 35 to secure the title outright. Sindarov ended as the runner-up with 22 points, while Wesley So finished third with 20.5 points.

Levon Aronian took fourth place with 19 points, while Fabiano Caruana, Leinier Dominguez and Jorden van Foreest shared fifth with 17 points each.

Praggnanandhaa's victory earned him USD 50,000 and 13 Grand Chess Tour points. By winning the event outright, he also avoided the need for a playoff.
