Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 5 -- Malayali powerlifter Venumadhavan from Kollam, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer at the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) here, was accorded a warm and emotional reception at his native place after clinching double gold at the All India Powerlifting Championship held in Mumbai on October 25 and 26.

Marking his third consecutive national double-gold win, Venumadhavan's remarkable achievement was celebrated at a felicitation event in his hometown, where Retired Deputy Collector Vijayakumar honoured him with a ponnada in recognition of the pride he has brought to the community.
