Bagalkot, July 15 -- In a dramatic turn of events that could have far-reaching implications for Karnataka's influential Panchamasali Lingayat community, the Kudala Sangama Panchamasali Gurupeetha, the community's revered spiritual seatm has been mysteriously locked, triggering unrest and raising political temperatures across the state.
The move comes in the wake of intensified mobilisation by the Peetha's head, Sri Jayamruthyunjaya Swamiji, who has been leading a statewide campaign demanding inclusion of the Panchamasali Lingayats under the 2A reservation category.
