Bengaluru/New Delhi, July 30 -- A power struggle over the future course of governance in Karnataka has pushed the Congress government's Cabinet expansion to August 3, with the party high command stepping in to reconcile competing claims over ministerial berths and the balance of power between the camps of Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Despite three days of marathon consultations in New Delhi, the Congress leadership is yet to finalise the names of around 18 ministers, underscoring the complexity of balancing governance priorities with political compulsions.
