Aizawl, Nov. 3 -- Postal ballot voting for the forthcoming bye-election to the Dampa Assembly constituency commenced on Monday at the office of Returning Officer Malsawmzuala in Mamit, the border town adjoining Bangladesh.
The bye-election for the Dampa seat is slated for November 11. Voting through postal ballots began at 9 a.m. and continued till 4 p.m. for voters who had submitted their applications on October 29.
According to guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI), electors aged 85 years and above, as well as those with benchmark disabilities, are eligible to cast their votes via postal ballot in the bye-election.
