BD NarayankarBengaluru, March 26 -- Just days before the opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium continues to resemble a high-pressure construction zone, with authorities pushing on a war footing to meet the March 28 deadline amid intense scrutiny over safety and preparedness.

From the main entrance to the outer periphery, the scale of ongoing work is unmistakable. Plywood sheets mask unfinished sections, temporary walkways snake through developing concourses, and several walls and gates are yet to receive final finishing touches. Along the stretch abutting Cubbon Road, newly carved fan movement corridors remain partially complete, even as workers move briskly between tasks.
