Siddharthnagar (UP), Aug. 18 -- A portion of a 40-year-old Maktab madrasa in Pipra Ramlal village in Siddharthnagar district was demolished on Tuesday.
There was a minor scuffle between the Samajwadi Party leaders and police.
SP MLA from Dumariyaganj, Syeeda Khatoon, and SP District President Lalji Yadav, along with more than 50 activists, arrived at the scene. They began shouting slogans in protest against the bulldozer action.
Later, police erected barricades to disperse the crowds and within two hours, the authorities demolished seven rooms, a shop, and half of the madrasa's hall with the help of bulldozers.
The incident occurred in the Dumariaganj tehsil area, 50 kilometres from the district headquarters.
