Imphal, Feb. 19 -- Manipur Police and Security Forces, in a series of coordinated operations across multiple districts of the state, have destroyed illegal poppy cultivation, arrested insurgent cadres, recovered a large cache of arms and explosives, and seized illegally transported timber, police said on Thursday.

In a joint operation with the Forest Department, Security Forces destroyed approximately 20 acres of illicit poppy plantation at Happi Mollen and Chaljang hill ranges in Churachandpur district. A temporary hut erected at the plantation site was also destroyed, officials said.
