Hyderabad, Nov. 3 -- Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar today directed officials to strengthen the enforcement of road safety measures including speed lock systems in vehicles and prepare a comprehensive action plan for vehicle fitness ahead of the upcoming Road Safety Month.
Addressing a Zoom meeting to review the recent spate of road accidents and discuss stringent preventive steps, he said all vehicles including school buses, hire buses, trucks, and tippers must pass the fitness tests. He called for intensified public awareness initiatives.
Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, Transport Commissioner Ilambarthi, along with Joint and Deputy Transport Commissioners and other senior officials, participated in the meeting.
