Hyderabad, May 4 -- Telangana Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Monday expressed happiness over the Congress party's victory in Kerala, calling it a reaffirmation of democratic values.

In a statement, he said the idea of a "Congress-free India" remains unrealistic as long as the Constitution framed by B. R. Ambedkar and democratic principles continue to guide the nation. He asserted that the Congress, as a party rooted in democracy, would return to power at the national level.

Congratulating senior leaders V D Satheesan and Ramesh Chennithala, and acknowledging the role of K C Venugopal, Prabhakar credited the party's success to the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge.
