Puducherry, April 1 -- The Election flying squad officials here arrested eight persons in three separate incidents on charges of distributing cash to voters by monitoring through drones, which was being used for the first time, ahead of the April 9 elections to the Puducherry Assembly.
The election department had introduced drones to monitor the menace of cash distribution for votes.
A few persons distributing cash at households were identified at Thirukkanur village in Mannadipet constituency through drones and the matter was informed to the election control room.
