Puducherry, May 19 -- A day after Puducherry Chief Minister and AINRC-Founder N Rangasamy resigned from his Thattanchavady assembly seat, having got elected from two seats, the Territorial Legislative Assembly Secretariat on Tuesday notified the seat as vacant.
The resignation of Mr Rangasamy was accepted and a notification was issued in government gazette declaring it as vacant, paving the way for holding bye-election to the seat.
It may be noted that in the April 9 Assembly elections, Rangasamy contested from Thattanchavady and Mangalam seats and won both. With the NDA retaining power for a second sucessiver term, Rangasamy formed the government and was sworn in as the Chief Minister along with two other Ministers, one each from AINRC a...
