Chandigarh, Oct. 27 -- Ahead of the November 11 by-election for the 021-Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency, the first training session for polling personnel was held at Mai Bhago College of Nursing in Piddi, Tarn Taran district.
Joint Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab, Sakatar Singh Bal, visited the venue to review the arrangements and oversee the training. He was accompanied by the Returning Officer and SDM Gurmeet Singh, along with other district officials.
During the session, Master Trainers briefed around 1,200 polling staff on the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) systems, and Control Units. A practical mock drill was also carried out, allowing Presiding Officers to cast sample votes f...
