Kolkata, Aug. 29 -- The state government has appointed a new Joint Municipal Commissioner for Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) with civic polls round the corner.
A government notification announced the appointment of Divya Murugesan as the new Joint Municipal Commissioner of the state capital's urban local body.
Murugesan, a 2017-batch Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer, was serving as Joint Chief Electoral Officer, West Bengal, in the rank of Special Secretary to the state government, before being moved to the KMC.
She is now set to join the civic administration headed by KMC's Commissioner Smita Pandey.
