Mumbai, Sept. 15 -- Maharashtra's political tensions intensified as Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde appealed to Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil to reconsider his ongoing march towards Mumbai amid the peak of the Ganeshotsav celebrations, while also backing the possibility of implementing a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state.
Addressing the media, Shinde asserted that the state government has taken several steps to address the demands of the Maratha community, including providing 10 per cent reservation, clearing thousands of pending appointments and increasing the financial limits of the Annasaheb Patil Economic Backward Development Corporation.
