Dhaka, Nov. 4 -- Flaring greater political tensions and exacerbating the already considerable socio-political unrest in Bangladesh, officials of its newly-formed National Citizen Party (NCP) accused the interim administration led by Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus of trying to derail the February 2026 general elections.

At a press conference in Dhaka, NCP leaders alleged that the interim government was shirking its responsibility to implement the country's newly proposed constitutional reform draft, called the July Charter, and instead placing the burden on political parties.
