Prayagraj, July 30 -- The Allahabad High Court made strong remarks on the functioning of police stations in Uttar Pradesh, observing that they have "become places of commercial activities." The Court directed the state's Director General of Police (DGP) to investigate the matter and take strict action.
The order was passed by a single bench of Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal while hearing petitioner Harendra Yadav's plea.
Expressing concern, the court said that police stations in the state are no longer centres for maintaining law and order, but are becoming places of commercial activities.
