New Delhi, Nov. 11 -- The historic Red Fort in the national capital was on Tuesday closed to the public for the next three days by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) following a deadly explosion that killed 10 people and injured 24 others.

In a significant development, the Delhi Police, during the day, formally classified Monday's incident as a "bomb blast" in its First Information Report (FIR). A copy of the FIR reviewed by UNI also confirms that the explosion damaged the wall of a nearby Delhi Police outpost.

Security has been drastically heightened across the city. As a precautionary measure, units of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been deployed at the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place.
