Neeraj BaliChandigarh, June 1 -- In a significant development, the Punjab Police conducted a raid at the residence of senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia here on Monday as part of an ongoing investigation.
A heavy police force was deployed at the premises during the operation, causing a stir in local political circles.
SP (Rural) Aditya Wariar, who led the police contingent, confirmed that the raid was conducted in connection with FIR number 91. Addressing a press conference at the DC office later, the SP stated that while the police team reached the residence with the intent to arrest Majithia, the leader was not found on the premises.
