Varanasi, May 2 -- The Jabalpur cruise ship accident in Madhya Pradesh has shocked the entire nation and now police are conducting continuous checking drives in the Ganga River in Kashi as well.
During the operation, which continued until Friday night, 15 boats were seized after irregularities were found, and FIRs have been filed against several boat operators and owners.
The police team detected numerous irregularities, including not providing life jackets to passengers on board, life jackets being damaged, making reels or taking selfies on a moving boat, and overloading. Subsequently, action was taken against the involved individuals.
