Mumbai, Aug. 23 -- Borivali Police have arrested a 55-year-old man who had allegedly been evading arrest for 36 years in connection with an attempt-to-murder case involving a cricket umpire following an on-field dispute in 1990, police said on Sunday.
The accused has been identified as Om Prakash Lalta Pasi, who was 18 at the time of the incident and was wanted in a case registred bearing Crime No. 92/1990 registered at Borivali Police Station.
According to police, Pasi was playing a cricket match in Borivali when the umpire declared him out. Angered by the decision, he allegedly attacked the umpire with the bat and fled the spot, leaving the official seriously injured.
