Chandigarh, Feb. 25 -- In a breakthrough, the Punjab Police on Wednesday neutralized a terror operative linked to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) during a fierce encounter in the Purana Shala area of Gurdaspur.
The deceased, identified as Ranjit Singh, was a primary suspect in the brutal murder of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Gurnam Singh and Home Guard Jawan Ashok Kumar at the Adian police post on February 22.
The encounter broke out early Wednesday morning after Ranjit Singh attempted to escape police custody.
