Kolkata, June 5 -- A police complaint has been filed against Bengali actor and former Trinamool Congress legislator Soham Chakraborty for allegedly duping a businessman of Rs 1.05 crore on the pretext of acting in a film, sources said on Friday.

The complaint alleging forgery and fraud was lodged on May 19 at the Charu Market Police Station in south Kolkata.

The businessman accused Soham of taking Rs 1.05 crore from him in the form of investement for his company, 'Soham Entertainment'. The funds were provided by an individual named Kaushik Karmakar.

Under the agreement, in return Soham was to act in a film. However, the film was never shot and the script was shelved indefinitely.
