Rampur (UP), Dec. 25 -- In a crackdown against cybercrime under the Civil Lines police station area, a local police team arrested six accused from a commercial tower in Delhi. The police action followed technical evidence and analysis of mobile phones, IMEI numbers, and provisions of the IT Act.

Police said on Thusday that the gang cheated people across different states by misusing ATM cards, chequebooks, bank passbooks, and UPI accounts.

The accused targeted victims through online platforms by offering part-time jobs, gaming opportunities, phishing links, and by using social media techniques. Once the victims transferred money, the gang would quickly empty their bank accounts.
