Nalgonda, Aug. 26 -- In a landmark judgment, the Nalgonda POCSO Court on Tuesday sentenced a man to 51 years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 85,000 in a case of rape and abduction of a minor girl.

According to case details, on November 3, 2021, Sheikh Qayyum of Tipparti mandal abducted a girl waiting at a bus stop, confined her in a dilapidated house, and raped her.

Following a complaint from the victim, Tipparti police registered cases under five sections, including rape, POCSO, SC/ST Atrocities, and criminal intimidation.
