Dimapur, June 24 -- Dimapur commissioner of police Aotula T Imchen on Wednesday said reported POCSO cases in Nagaland increased from seven in 2022 to 15 in 2025, while traced missing children reached 216 in 2025.
Addressing the monthly Dimapur District Planning and Development Board meeting at the DC's conference hall, Imchen said many missing-child cases were linked to runaway cases or elopement patterns.
She urged stakeholders to identify early warning signs such as absenteeism, school dropouts, and behavioral changes to prevent children from becoming vulnerable.
