Hyderabad, May 15 -- The Fast Track Special Court for Expeditious Trial and Disposal of Rape and POCSO Act cases in LB Nagar has convicted three accused persons in a POCSO case registered at Balapur Police Station and sentenced the prime accused to life imprisonment.
According to the Hyderabad City Police statement on Friday, the court convicted Mohammad Azeem (25) and sentenced him to life imprisonment, besides imposing a fine of Rs 22,000. Two other accused, Mohammad Haleem and Jameela Begum, were sentenced to three years' imprisonment each and fined Rs 6,000 each.
The court also awarded victim compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the survivor.
