Kolkata, June 18 -- Kolkata will host the national celebrations of the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on June 21, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to lead the Common Yoga Protocol at Red Road, where thousands of participants are expected to gather for the event, the Ayush Ministry announced on Thursday.
The preparations and scale of the celebrations were outlined at a curtain-raiser press conference held at Nabanna Sabhaghar in Kolkata. During the event, 12 special philatelic covers commemorating International Day of Yoga 2026 were released by West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav.
