Chandigarh, Sept. 7 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gurdaspur, Punjab, on September 9 to assess the situation in the flood-ravaged state.

The visit comes as all 23 districts of Punjab grapple with severe flooding, affecting thousands of residents and causing widespread damage.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will meet with affected communities, including farmers and families, to understand their challenges and assure them of the central government's support. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab unit announced the visit, emphasising the government's commitment to standing by the people of Punjab in this hour of crisis.

The floods have impacted 1,996 villages across the state, with Gurdaspur (329 villages), Am...
