Kolkata, March 21 -- : With campaigning for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections gaining momentum, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a public rally in North Bengal on March 26, marking the formal beginning of the BJP's central leadership campaign in the state following the announcement of the poll schedule.

The rally is expected to kickstart a series of high-profile appearances by BJP leaders.

According to party sources, Modi is likely to hold at least 14 rallies and roadshows across West Bengal ahead of the elections.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who had earlier addressed a rally in Mathurapur on March 1, is also expected to play a key role, with plans to participate in at least eight major campaign events.
