Guwahati, Feb. 13 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the highway based emergency runway at Moran in Assam's Dibrugarh district on Saturday, Feb 14, adding another feather in the country's defence readiness in the eastern frontier of the country.
Built at an estimated cost of Rs 150 crores, the 4.25 kms stretch at the Moran bypass is constructed to double up as an emergency runway during and emergency and disaster.
Officials said that the stretch can accommodate landing and take off of all major combat aircrafts in India including the Rafale, the Sukhois, Tejas, C130J, etc.
