Kolkata, Sept. 15 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived here, is scheduled to inaugurate a key defence conference at Fort William, the headquarters of the Indian Army's Eastern Command in the city.

"After programmes in Assam, I landed in Kolkata, where I will take part in the Combined Commanders' Conference tomorrow," Modi said before arriving in the city to unveil a three-day armed forces conference at Fort William.

Modi also shared visuals of a grand welcome at Kolkata Airport last evening as he waved to a large crowd of supporters.
