New Delhi, July 16 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to convey India's heartfelt condolences on the passing of the Father Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and hailed his lasting contribution to strengthening bilateral ties.

In a post on 'X', the Prime Minister said he had personally spoken to the Qatari leader to express his sympathies over the demise of the Father Amir.
