New Delhi, Aug. 26 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended greetings on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, expressing hope that the festival would promote togetherness and spread joy across society.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said, "Eid Mubarak! Greetings on Milad-un-Nabi. I hope this occasion furthers togetherness and joy all around us.""May the spirit of kindness and giving back to society always guide us," Modi added.
Milad-un-Nabi, also known as Eid-e-Milad, commemorates the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad and is observed by Muslims through prayers, religious gatherings, charitable activities and acts of service.
