Shillong, Jan. 21 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended warm greetings to the people of Meghalaya on the occasion of statehood day, praising their cultural richness, development journey, and contributions to India's growth.
In a letter to Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, the Prime Minister described Meghalaya as a land of exceptional natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, shaped by the unique traditions of the Khasi, Garo, and Jaintia communities.
"Their ethos, especially the deep respect for nature, spirit of harmony and commitment to women's empowerment, continue to enrich India's cultural mosaic," Modi said.
