Chennai, July 27 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay and DMK President M K Stalin on Monday congratulted weightlifter Raja Muthupandi for winning a silver medal in the Men's 65 kg category at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Vijay also announced a cash incentive of Rs 30 lakh for the Tamil Nadu weightlifter, a native of the southern Thoothukudi district, in recogntiion of his remarkable feat and making the state proud.
In a post on x, Mr Modi said "congratulations to Raja Muthupandi on wining a silver medal in the Mens 65 kg weightlifting event at the Glasgow Commonwealth games".
"His success makes every Iindian happy and proud. My best wishes for his upcoming endeavours", he wrote.
