New Delhi, April 20 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held high-level bilateral talks with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung in New Delhi, marking a significant step in strengthening ties between the two nations amid global economic and security challenges.

Lee is on a three-day state trip aimed at deepening the India-South Korea 'Special Strategic Partnership', as described by the Ministry of External Affairs.

The meeting took place at Hyderabad House, where both leaders also participated in a ceremonial tree-planting.

"Korea is an important technology partner. Semiconductors and shipbuilding will be discussed," MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.
