Chennai, Sept. 25 -- A plea demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) probe into the high-profile case involving Granite baron R.Veeramani of Gem Granites, who was arrested under POCSO Act for sexually assaulting minor girls over the years, was madein the Madras High Court on Thursday and the First Bench said it would be heard if it was filed in the form of a petition.
Senior counsel N L Raja, appearing for advocate C Rajasekaran, made an urgent mention before the Bench comprising Chief JusticeS.A.Dharmadhikari and Justice G Arul Murugan. He said videos connected with the case had surfaced and that senior police officials involved in the earlier investigation had been shunted out and placed on compulsory wait.
