Panchkula, Aug. 5 -- The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has expanded the National Pension System (NPS) distribution network by allowing Point of Presence (PoP) entities to appoint Cluster-Based Business Organisations (CBBOs) and registered co-operative societies as Pension Agents for schemes regulated under the PFRDA Act, 2013.

This decision was announced in a circular issued on July 30.

This move expands the range of entities eligible to serve as Pension Agents under the PFRDA (Point of Presence) Regulations, 2018. The circular builds on previous guidelines for engaging and operating Pension Agents.
