Lucknow, March 30 -- After two days of panic-buying, the fuel supply situation in Uttar Pradesh has now largely returned to normal.

By Sunday, conditions had stabilised in most urban areas-including the state capital, Lucknow-though challenges persist in rural regions and regarding the distribution of domestic LPG cylinders.

On Saturday and Sunday, the long queues and chaotic scenes previously witnessed at petrol pumps were no longer in evidence. In Lucknow, by Sunday afternoon, vehicles were seen refueling as usual at most pumps.

Officials and petrol pump operators clarified that there was no actual shortage of petrol or diesel; rather, demand had surged suddenly due to rumors.
