New Delhi/Hyderabad, May 4 -- union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Monday said the results of Assembly elections in five states reflect growing public support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, asserting that the party is poised to form its first government in West Bengal with a strong mandate.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, he said the verdict signals a desire for change in West Bengal and alleged that the Trinamool Congress government led by Mamata Banerjee had weakened governance, industry, and law and order over the past decade and a half. He accused the TMC of corruption in coal-mining regions and claimed that BJP's strong performance in such constituencies reflects public anger.
