Mumbai, Aug. 6 -- Launching a blistering counter-offensive against the opposition, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde firmly asserted that the mandate of the true political ownership of the Shiv Sena was settled long ago by the public.

Dismissing ongoing political friction, Shinde emphasized that the people's verdict serves as the ultimate seal of democratic approval.

Highlighting the historic split, Shinde stated that stepping out with 40 MLAs eventually grew into a stronger backing of 60 legislators through direct public endorsement.

Citing legal frameworks and previous observations by the judiciary, he dismissed opposition narratives labeling the administration as unconstitutional.
