New York, Aug. 31 -- Fourth seed Jessica Pegula underlined her credentials as a title contender at the 2025 US Open with a commanding 6-1, 6-2 victory over fellow American Ann Li today.

The match, played under the bright lights of Arthur Ashe Stadium, lasted only 54 minutes as Pegula powered into her third US Open quarterfinal.

The Buffalo-born star, who captured hearts last year with a run to her maiden Grand Slam final in New York before falling to Aryna Sabalenka, has looked increasingly at home on tennis's biggest stages.
