Rio De Janeiro, May 21 -- Pedro continued his prolific form as Flamengo advanced to the Copa Libertadores last 16 with a 1-0 home win over Estudiantes.
Brazil international striker Pedro capitalized on chaotic defending just after the hour as he pounced on a loose ball inside the area and fired low into the far corner on Wednesday.
The Argentine side had just 32 percent of the possession and one shot on target as it slid to itsfirst loss of the campaign. Pedro now has 18 goals and four assists in 32 matches across all competitions for Flamengo this year, according to Xinhua.
The result at Rio de Janeiro's Maracana Stadium leaves Flamengo top of Group A with 10 points, three clear of second-placed Independiente Medellin.
