Srinagar, March 26 -- The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday called upon the J&K government to clarify its position on the private member's bill introduced by party legislator Waheed Para, which proposes administrative reorganisation including the creation of new divisions and districts across the union Territory.
Para has submitted a Private Member's Bill, titled Jammu and Kashmir Territorial Administrative Reorganisation Bill, 2026, proposing the creation of 16 new districts in J&K and two additional divisions in Jammu. He has proposed that the Chenab division be headquartered in Doda and Pir Panjal division in Rajouri. Currently, there are two divisions in J&K - Kashmir and Jammu.
